Blog #9 Experience in EME2040:     My experience in this class was decently terrible. A lot of the blame is put on myself of course. Personally I did not enjoy this class only for the fact that I do not have any interest in teaching whatsoever. Therefore, I put in little effort in my work.  However, I did enjoy the idea of using different tools to network beyond your typical platforms.  This class was purely online, it is possible I could have been more engaging if this class was in person. Again, my work reflects my (and me alone) lack of effort in engagement in this class.  OER:      OER is many learning resources where anyone can gain access to and use for what they need. Usually you find this online. It allows those to use these properties free of charge or without negative consequence. It is also associated with the five rights of retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute.  An example of an open educational resource ...

Blog #8 How Did you Like Web Design?      Not going to lie, I did not complete this assignment for the Web Page Design. I do not have any excuses, just did not do it. Frankly, currently debating if I even want to finish college. Nothing on this course or our professor, but this class I am lost majority of the time and that reflects on my current grade. However, all that fault falls on me. One thing for sure I have learned is that I do NOT want to be a teacher. I am hoping that some of these technological platforms we have used I can apply in my future even if it is not in education or in the classroom. Well, that is my rant in replace of talking about the Web Page Design Assignment. Will probably get points taken off for this part.  How Did you Like Diigo?     Honestly, I would use Diigo only in situations regarding group projects or even group activities in correlation to a certain class. For example, a lot of class here at FSU, a student will c...

Blog #7 10/15/21 Example School Website:      I looked back onto my old high school website to see how they organized the website. Since I live in Brevard County, my school was affiliated with Brevard Schools in whole, so major policies such as masks were directed based on Brevard Schools rules rather than individual school. However, the website was organized well for student use and parent use for any information needed on school policies and so forth. Examples are access to bell schedule, guidance counselors, school supply lists, etc. Plus, any questions not found on the site they provide contact information for every department. Only downside there is no access to specific class pages (that requires a log in).  Your Future Website as a Teacher: For my own class I do plan to make use of sources such as History Channel, National Geographic, and any other outside sources to engage my students on topics that can be applied in real world scenario. I will have my ...

Blog #5 Experiences with Twitter?                     I have used Twitter since I was fifteen. However, I used it more for connecting with classmates and teammates on a social platform. I never thought it as a way to connect with those that are in the same field of work or those who desire similar career paths as I do. In this class where I created a different account geared towards a certain career made it easier to gain ideas and connect those who are similar in aspects of what this class is. Following this class assignments, possibility later into my career I will use social media platforms such as Twitter to connect to others or organizations that are similar in my workforce.  Digital Divide:           I do believe digital divide is still a very prominent situation to this day and can be for many years down the road. It can affect how students learn and complete assignments that are ...

Blog #3: Copyright

Blog #3: What is Copyright and Fair Use? Copyright ties into protection of a person's property of a song, logo, etc. You can also correlate it to as a person's right to own their original works without it being claimed by another. Fair use is placed as guidelines to the proper way to market and own your original work as well as being properly cited if someone does use your work.  Sadly in my time at school, I was never taught the proper way to cite and give credit to the proper owner of that content. I was even clueless on what the term plagiarism even meant. Therefore, I had to learn the hard way as a mere 7th grader. As a teacher I would teach the purpose of copyright and what that may look like on a yearly basis. As children progress further up in grade levels, the teachings of copyright and fair use should be retaught in every grade until college. Depending on that grade level can determine the complexity of how to properly cite the owner of the content is essay format, ...

"kids using computers."   by  San José Public Library  is licensed under  CC BY-SA 2.0   Blog #2 Experience with MS Word:     I have always used MS Word since third grade when we had to write our very own short story. It had to be at least a page and you had to have at least one photo. Now, I am aware that I grew up in the time computers were accessible in all schools, however the internet and Office Word was still fairly new. Looking back on it because my generation was going to be more experienced and have further access to this technology our teachers did their best to implement it into our learning. As a current college student, the Internet and MS Office is a daily use for me.      I have used Google Docs, I do find it useful for group projects when we can simultaneously work on the same paper or PowerPoint. However, I always seem to fall back to MS Word probably because I understand the works of it the most, and have used...

Introduction

Hello, I am a junior at Florida State University. My major is Humanities. I played two years on the Florida State's softball team. I am actually planning to switch my major for something in the medical field.  I have taken a course related to the programs of Microsoft, which includes: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe. I also have taken a course in relation to the programming with C++. However, I have found that course to be quite difficult. I am currently enrolled in a course dealing with coding and programming with Java and Javascript.  Learning resources that I use is Google, library books that retain to whatever information I need of, and social media. I explore these learning resources with my phone and personal laptop, which I use for all school assignments.
